I've seen The West Wing, was a big fan of The West Wing and this is no West Wing. If anything, it is the anti-West Wing or West Wing without the charm.

Tea Leoni is terrific and it's great to see her back on TV, but even she can't make some of the clunkier stuff work.

It's often good at the seemingly little touches, like the patter of sharp dialogue that fills in character, motivation and personality.

Madam Secretary starts off solidly, with an engaging performance by Téa Leoni. What may draw much of the attention with Sunday's premiere, though, is a jarring intersection between the show's plot and recent real-life events in the Mideast.
