When you get into trouble there's only one person to call, Olivia Pope. Olivia is a professional 'fixer' who makes problems go away before anyone even knows they exist. Everyone has secrets and Olivia Pope has dedicated her life to protecting and defending the public images of the nation's elite by keeping those secrets under wraps. Pope's team is at the top of its game when it comes to getting the job done for its clients, but it becomes apparent that these 'gladiators in suits' who specialize in fixing the lives of others, have trouble fixing the lives of those closest at hand, their own.

I'm cautiously optimistic that the powers that be at Scandal spent the summer trying to put the wheels back on the bus. There were a few good set-ups in this episode, but it remains to be seen whether Scandal will make good use of them.

Liv tells him they need to work out their issues first, clean all their dirty laundry before they're picked apart by the public. It's the most adult decision they've ever made. Maybe there is room for a happy ending for this couple.
