Season 3 opens with Nolan released from prison, having proven his innocence through a failsafe in his Carrion project. Jack returns and gives Emily an ultimatum after her revelation of her true identity. Conrad is diagnosed with a disease, and Ashley falls into a trap set by Emily.

During the third season more than ever, it became clear that the showrunners' only interest was for Emily to execute her revenge, regardless of how ludicrous and tedious her plans became.

I just have to mention that Nolan's outfits remain one of the most entertaining parts of the show.

Revenge has ascended even past its season one heights, thanks to Nayar's decision to do in season three exactly the opposite of what Kelley tried to do in season two: take an inherently self-limiting premise and use it to the show's advantage.

Two points to Revenge for the intrigue with the opening and closing scenes. They were great bookends to the episode and made me forget about all the mud in the middle.
