Following the energizing events of the last two seasons, season three thinks of new stories following the policeman Roger Murtaugh who in this season coordinates with the previous CIA international agent, Wesley Cole, endeavoring to do the errands that they are requested to do. The start is with the baffling homicide of a finance executive.

In the Same Boat" had the deck stacked against it, but it surprisingly managed to provide a story that honored Riggs while believably moving Murtaugh into a new space

Lethal Weapon didn't create Cole as a Riggs 2.0, and it should be fun to see how his dynamic with Murtaugh differs from Riggs'.

A very strong premiere that finds the right balance between grief and action. It's a very encouraging start to the season and it handles the difficult task of not only introducing a new cast member, but also putting an old one to rest with extreme skill.
