The series follows a chain of science fiction events in the early 2000s. During that ideal period, the Earth was visited by a female-looking foreign race, Taelons. Soon after, it seems that this strange being has turned things around by eliminating famine, disease, and pollution, and Taelons may have been able to perform tasks that humans could not do.

The first season is pretty great, but the show goes through some rough re-casting and re-direction transitions over the course of its five seasons.

Maybe after a few more interdimensional flights and virtual-reality flashbacks, the show's future will be clearer.

For the hardcore sci-fi aficionado it is recommended... It's certainly a much different view of humanity from the man who created "Star Trek," and that, in and of itself, makes it quite the curiosity piece.
