The third season offers more powerful drama as Jane and the rest of the CID feel the pressure over one of the issues of the period. The pressure seems to be due to the cessation of a series of deliberate politically motivated attacks, which was before the general elections in 1983. This is a complex political process where the team feels it is at a dead end.
