After an outburst, the doctor attempts to give Ryan electroshock therapy, having received permission from Ryan';s dad. Wilfred saves Ryan, and Ryan wakes up in a meeting at his new job. The show';s writing continues to impress with its layered storytelling, which starts off with Ryan making a metaphorical discovery about Wilfred Ryan and Wilfred';s feelings toward each other teeter between compassion and hostility as they find themselves in one absurd misadventure after another, including a sabotaged wedding.

The show's first season didn't really exhaust all the jokes based on a guy in a dog suit doing inappropriate dog things.

It is an absolutely hilarious comedy that mixes in intense dramatic and suspenseful moments with a great long-running mysterious plot that makes the viewer question every single thing that is happening on screen.

Due to its indiscreet mishandling of what's real and what isn't, Wilfred simply asks too much of its audience, requiring the endurance to look past its questionable narrative structure and the shaky delivery of its moral lessons.
