The fifth season begins to complete the series with a series of adventures, as Richard returns to start thinking about Christine's recovery after leaving him at the altar. On the other hand, Barb and Mathew are visiting New Christine, but perhaps there will be a state of anger toward Richard, and it seems that the meeting of Christine and the old Richard will go wrong with some old university fellows.

As it proved once again last night, Old Christine remains both extremely amusing and distinctive.

All too quickly, the show falls into stereotypes...but the intended irony may not be clear, especially to young viewers.

The season premiere is a bit too scattered and crazy to really showcase what's lovely about New Christine. But the strength of Louis-Dreyfuss and Sykes comes through loud and clear.
