The second season is better than the first. It keeps the atmosphere of the first season along with the talent of the actors then adds a better plot.

Angel of Darkness bites off a lot more than The Alienist did the first time around, capitalizing on its team's established relationships to dig a little deeper into the issues of its time, and doesn't quite pull all of it off.
