Season 5 comes with a new drama, as Noah begins his journey with Descent. On that perfect journey, Noah can get to know his star Sasha Man, while Helen looks bad when she mourns a tragic event. On the other hand, Sierra welcomes a new person, and Joanne is struggling to prepare for an upcoming birthday, and Janel is struggling with a bad turn related to her relationship and work.

The Affair has always been a fascinating show to watch because much like its characters, it has never feared following its instincts down the wildest paths possible, even if those instincts lead to some terrible choices.

"The Affair" began at the "End" - Montauk - five seasons ago, and ends at The End. This seems exactly right.

I'd probably follow these characters (even Whitney) for an indefinite number of seasons - partly because of the sucker that I am, but also because "The Affair" can never be completely considered down for the count.

Tierney's performance as Helen is what really anchors this season and makes it as watchable as it is.
