Hardy is still looking for a gang to steal buffalo from a buyer named Fresno Kelly. Of the suspects and those involved in the attack is a person named Billy Thompson. Wells Fargo is accused of stealing gold ore from a large mine. Hardy will be sent to the mine to investigate after another investigator was killed.
