Season 2 begins when something about Sacha is accused of a new charge when Santos' new shoes are lost. Meanwhile, Maddie Glover returns as chef in the restaurant to enter a new job and sample a varied menu, and Tess is fully associated with a different guest of the day. On the other hand, he will receive a different offer during that period.

Where the show does a much better job is in its portrayal of the connections within the microcosm of the restaurant, one that completely runs the lives of those who are a part of it. It's all funny, emotional, warm and quickly forgotten in turn.

Sweetbitter's dizzying range of directors and writers perhaps explains the unevenness of the episodes. Though each one is coated in an appetising glaze, the ingredients beneath can vary in quality.
