It was a far cry from the first time we watched the Pussycats perform. It seemed like a vanilla, watered down imitation of the original - a type of milkshake that will bring no one to the yard.

I wouldn't think the homage should be taken literally. Which is to say I don't think the Zodiac Killer is a character on Riverdale. But it is an apt reference to make in a different way: this event essentially marks whoever this guy is as a serial killer.

Riverdale is a mad delight. This show has taken an American icon of blandness and turned it into a bizarre, over-the-top mystery show.

"Nighthawkers" isn't a bad episode, but it's not one that's particularly good either.
