You'll pardon me if I'm more interested in the weekly guest stars and in the work done by Grey's standouts Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr. Their characters, Miranda Bailey and Richard Webber, are the heart and soul of Grey's.

Assuming the desire to stay at this hospital depends on replenishing key storylines, the longterm diagnosis doesn't look good.

The big reveal of this season finale was that Meredith has quietly become a much more stable and sympathetic character, a very welcome payoff for an often painful season.
