This series tells of powerful adventures that we live through that force that will threaten the world with destruction after 50 years in the future. It is a repressive and authoritarian force that suddenly emerged, so a bold team is recruited to experience a new form of armed neuroscience to counter that strange force. Everyone in the team must be prepared because they will engage in violent confrontations to save the world.

While the addition of impressive voice talent like Jordan, Fanning, Tennant, Williams, and Dillion is appealing, it doesn't do enough to enhance what is ultimately a flimsy story.

The show has a cast full of extremely likeable and interesting characters that already make it well worth watching. But it's still missing a larger story that's worth letting those characters tell.

If the first two episodes, packed with action, heart, and humor, heartbreaking twists and back-stabbing turns, don't grab you, then clearly ''gen:LOCK is not the show for you.

Gen:LOCK has enough going for it early in its run that the Rooster Teeth fanbase as well as mecha nerds should find some enjoyment out of it.
