Season 5 begins with a series of new tasks as the group faces unexpected risks in a short period of time. When the group lands in an unknown area in search, you will face more real risks in search of survivors. Morgan and Alicia are trying to meet on a mission with a new survivor as the group struggles to achieve its high goal during that period.

This is easily the Dead franchise's biggest walker-related threat since the introduction of giant herds, and the radiation-infused zombies are all the more dangerous given their non-obvious nature.

Ultimately, the Strand/Daniel scenes and the other, expository scenes are two sides of the same coin. Fear the Walking Dead is a much better show when digging in with characters it has developed, rather than trying overdo the plot.

This The Walking Dead spinoff has suffered in the past from inconsistent storytelling, but it appears that the show is continuing to go from strength to strength, and it's still way more enjoyable to watch than the parent series.

The action doesn't slow down (much) and the mysteries of season 5 continue to unfold. But, seriously, if Morgan makes another speech involving "helping people" or the demons within, I will willingly take my chances solo in the misty radioactive woods.

While I'm still having some major problems with characters making suicidal decisions, "The Hurt That Will Happen" was a strong follow-up to the season premiere and further established this initial arc's threat.

[Morgan]'s told to take off his clothing... Including his wedding ring. That's the point of the scene, by the way, to show how much Morgan has grown.

For much of the run of both The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, zombies have been a low-level threat to their characters... In some ways, that changed in this week's episode of Fear the Walking Dead, "The Hurt Will Happen."

We are following several different storylines this week. Frankly, most of them are not very interesting. It's never a good sign when you are bored with the second episode of a season.

A great episode. Love to see the radiation in there, making the zombies even nastier than usual. It's a great little twist.
