Downton Abbey - Season 2

Description
The Great War rages across Europe, and the splendid house of Downton Abbey is not left untouched. Romance and heartbreak, scandal and rumours, blackmail and betrayal are all in play. The intertwined lives of the Crawleys and their servants are complicated by the storms of war, and when these have finally cleared, will the way of life they know have changed forever?

Downton Abbey is still a fine, handsome entertainment, and if you inherently like this sort of thing more than I ever will, I imagine you'll be very happy to return there for the new season.

The show gets things right more often than it gets them wrong, especially as various story lines knit themselves together over the course of the season.

Downton Abbey was the best TV show of 2011 and give or take Mad Men it could also be the best show of 2012.

Much grimmer, grayer and (gasp) dowdier. Still mostly wonderful.
