On Batwoman Season 1 Episode 3, "Down Down Down," the first villain of the week appears, and unfortunately, Tommy Elliot doesn't really work. He's not that engaging. There's no intrigue involved.

"Down Down Down" is still laying the groundwork, but it manages to keep things interesting while it does. And with new villains and mysteries popping up, the world is sure to be expanded upon even more next week.

This week's episode saw Kate coming into her own as a hero - and getting her proper costume - in a pretty unique way.
