Vinyl - Season 1
The series focuses on Richie Finestra, a New York music executive in the late 1970s who hustles to make a career out of the city's diverse music scene. Vinyl takes viewers behind the scenes of the record industry in the 1970s, when glam rock, punk, disco and rap were all just starting to emerge.

Appointment viewing. A wild look into a world most of us could only dream of. Bobby Cannavale's performance is magnificent.
February 11, 2016
There's barely time to recover as every scene attempts a daring or inventive move of some sort. There aren't many shows you can say that about, which makes "Vinyl," even with its flaws, a success.

These ten episodes are a somewhat hellish loop of stylistic motifs, crutches, and tics.
September 26, 2016
It takes time for the sharp corners to smooth but it's worth the investment. Cannavale in full flight is a sight to behold.

As a team, Scorsese and Winter found greatness in Boardwalk Empire. Maybe they'll eventually find it here, too. I just wish they'd found it sooner. Bottom line, a disappointment.
February 11, 2016
Make it past the sluggish pilot and Vinyl explodes into a kaleidoscopic series with enough addictive drama, believably broken characters, and general funk that it becomes very easy to forget how un-fresh it all is.
February 10, 2016
It's a rock 'n' roll show so good Vinyl literally brings the house down.
February 10, 2016
An exciting and completely unique dramedy, with music.
