EPISODE
Valor - Season 1
The boundaries between military discipline and human desire are tested on a U.S. Army base that houses an elite unit of helicopter pilots trained to perform clandestine international and domestic missions. The drama unfolds in the present as well as in flashbacks to a failed mission involving one of the first female pilots in the unit, ultimately uncovering layers of personal and government/military secrets and leading to a season-long plan to rescue a group of MIA soldiers.

The CW should stick to superheroes and shows like Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Jane the Virgin...or do a military drama right.

So Valor quickly becomes about secrets and lies, guilt and bravery, and hot bodies and awful banter. It's not the best mix, and not mixed the best way.

If Valor lacks one thing-and it lacks plenty of things-it's insight. To tell a familiar story is no crime; to do it in a lackluster way isn't either.

It's always been a thing to make fun of The CW as a network of gratuitously pretty people, but I've rarely felt it drain a show as much as Valor.

This all probably sounds ridiculous, and pretty much is.
October 08, 2017
Valor is overblown, badly cast, horribly filmed and my candidate for Worst New Show of Fall 2017.
October 09, 2017
Valor doesn't make a lot of sense.

... what I like about Valor (and that sets it apart from fall's many other military dramas) is it's female-led.
October 06, 2017
It's an intriguing conspiracy thriller with some painful observations on modern warfare that may take much of the The CW's youthful audience by surprise.
