The series revolves around two professional code breakers, Millie and Jean. They are asked to come to San Francisco in an attempt to solve a series of mysterious murders occur there. They head there and start their work by the case of murdering Claire Hopkins and two identical of it.

The real question is why they bothered... The dialogue verges on the clumsy, the historical references seem shoe-horned and the departed actors who made up the original cast are very much missed.

This couldn't be further from the bleak, Scandi-style murder mystery. One more reason why it feels old-fashioned, of course, but none the worse for it.
