Maximilian is a professional vampire who is the only person who survived the vampire race on a Caribbean island. Maximilian looks for another mate to share before his life ends. After a long search, Max discovered that a child had been born to a woman with a vampire father and was still looking for her in Brooklyn. On the other hand, this time is the mother of Rita who died in the asylum. Max tries to be courted by Rita and tries to bring her a bloody fate, but Rita tries to determine her fate even though she has strange dreams. Meanwhile, the police officer is still trying to track Maximilian to investigate the murders he caused.

Oh, Wes, what did we all do to deserve this?
April 12, 2002
Neither as good as it might be nor as bad as you might expect.
January 01, 2000
Craven can't keep the comic elements in balance with the horror, and as a result there's no tension or dramatic pull.
February 06, 2003
Is it comedy? Is it horror? Uneven film that never lives up to its potential as either.
January 07, 2005
Never funny enough to pass muster as a comedy and never scary enough (if at all) to make it as a horror movie.
June 18, 2002
Vampire in Brooklyn is neither funny nor frightening and comes up a tedious middle-road hybrid from veteran scaremeister Wes Craven, who directed.
January 01, 2000
Murphy's pale efforts are enough to make one fondly recall Blacula. Now that was one sucker who knew how to make a film that didn't.
December 11, 2003
Given the talent involved, it's almost impressive how much of a misfire the film is.
May 14, 2002
The horror relies on special effects so obvious that the scares are compromised.
January 01, 2000
To call this a comedy is a sign of optimism; to call it a comeback for Murphy is a sign of blind faith.
June 05, 2002
Essentially little more than a romantic triangle with a 'good versus evil' twist, it's not a bad film, but it is also neither winningly funny enough to exploit Murphy's talents nor bitingly scary enough to exploit Craven's.
January 01, 2000
Doesn't live up to its promise or premise.
