The film discovers a country music Performer, Dolly Parton. Dolly was the performer who meets an untimely demise. It seems that she cannot enter heaven until she performs a good deed back on Earth. The good way is to get a workaholic widower and his children back together again for Christmas, and that maybe will change her future.
