The Odd Life of Timothy Green
The movie centers on a happily married couple, Cindy and Jim Green, who can't wait to start a family but can only dream about what their child would be like. One day, they bury a box in their backyard, containing all of their wishes for an infant. Soon, young Timothy shows up on their doorstep one stormy night.

It's hard to believe that Hedges once wrote some decent light fiction (What's Eating Gilbert Grape, An Ocean in Iowa) before he started making greeting-card movies like Dan in Real Life and this one.
