Homeward Bound 2: Lost in San Francisco
The Seaver family arrived at San Francisco International Airport to travel to Canada, accompanied by their pets, the trio Chance, American Bulldog, Shadow, the Golden Retriever, and Sassy, a nervous cat. Suddenly, the trio fled after they all jumped from their carriers heading for the city, where there were a group of electrolytes struggling to avoid the multiple risks and enemies that lurked. In the animals' journey into the city, they must deal with the dangers that threaten them, including the intruders who want to sell them to animal researchers. On the part of their owners, everyone is looking for them to bring them home and protect them from homelessness.

It does a better job than most family films in projecting a child's-eye view of a world where siblings and pets are equally cherished members of the family.

This sequel is serviceable family-market fodder, but even little children might expect something more sophisticated these days.

Definitely not as good as the first.

The tone is ideal for a family audience. The length is perfect. And the sequence of last-minute surprises elicits tears and laughter in just the right proportions.

The first movie was good-hearted and I liked it, but since then Babe has raised the bar, with animals that not only talk more realistically, but say things that are wittier and more pungent.

So pathetic, that the filmmakers are not above making gay jokes about animals in San Francisco!

A silly little trifle with more wisecracks than laughs.

The plot is nothing more than a recycled version of the first one, but hey, it is still funny and there are many great lines.

Taken on its own entirely hokey terms, Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Francisco is a charming romp of a talking animal movie.
