Shakil Jessa (he/him) is a writer, actor, and comedian based in Vancouver, Canada, and has quickly become a rising star. Growing up he would write comedy sketches to perform in his elementary school talent shows, which would eventually lead him to the world of stand-up and acting.Shakil has acquired acting credits on the CW's Riverdale and Superman and Lois. Shakil has also written and script-consulted for one of the biggest youth YouTube channels with his videos garnering over two million views.Shakil's inspirations include Riz Ahmed, Ramy Youssef, Hasan Minhaj, Issa Rae, Mindy Kaling, Michaela Coel, and Ziwe. Seeing such strong representations of people of color in this industry, who are unafraid of portraying their authentic selves is what drives Shakil to continue acting, writing, and telling his stories.
