Jeffrey Koonce has spent much of his career in public and university education. He began his career as an editor for a small-town newspaper before becoming a high school English and drama teacher. He wrote and directed school plays as well as writing and producing scripts for youth group dramatic events. He later became a school counselor and then a school administrator before moving to the university level as a professor of education and psychology. He has recently returned to the world of dramatic productions by getting his feet wet as a background actor for Seasons 4 through 6 of The Chosen produced by 5&2 Studios. He has also been a background actor for Season 1 of The Promised Land produced by Studio 523 and worked as an extra for I Can Only Imagine II produced by Kingdom Story Company. Additionally, he was a homeless man for This is How We Roll and a jailer in Heels to Holsters, both produced by JC Films. He played the role of Ari in I Dreamt I Saw The Messiah produced by Rob DeMaggio and Galilee Films.
In 2025, Koonce performed in a couple of productions by EchoTV Studio.....as a disciple for a short movie called Incurable and as President Nichols in Season 3 of the Gone series. He also performed as Men's Group Member 1 in the Wesely Brothers' comedy A Very Southern Church filmed in 2025.
From the production side, Koonce served as a script supervisor for Season 3 of Gone, produced by Echo TV Studio in 2025. His directorial debut was a short film called Resurrection in August 2025 under the guidance of JCFilms.
As of 2025, he is working on a script for a short series on life in 1600's south side Virginia. Hide
