Awanui is a New Zealand-based filmmaker with more than 15 years of experience as a director and script supervisor in the local industry. She is best known for her contribution to WARU, directing TITTY & BASH, one of the vignettes which make up the award-winning portmanteau film. Awanui's other directing credits include prime-time TV drama HEAD HIGH and popular bilingual coming-of-age drama AHIKAROA, as well as the short thriller RU. Her script supervising credits include both local and international titles such as CREAMERIE, COWBOY BEBOP, and EVIL DEAD RISE. Hide
